Gold Mill Chronicles
Thrane is the modern name of the valley that was once home to an outpost of the ancient empire of Bael Turath. When the empire was corrupted and inevitably fell, the land around the outpost became corrupted as well. The valley became perpetualy veiled in rain and mist for hundreds of years, giving rise to a marsh that stretched from one side of the valley to the other. The ruined outpost began to sink into the gripping mire, large parts of it are thought to now be entirely underground.
Several hundred years ago an unknown event sparked the rejuvenation of the landscape and forests and grasslands took root. Some time later the city of Gold Mill was founded and settlers flocked to the valley.
